With the shared mission of merging beauty and sustainable design, Aquafil and Milliken partnered to create and debut a custom-designed green carpet that graced the step and repeat at Global Green’s 13th annual Pre-Oscar Party in Los Angeles on Feb. 24, 2016.
The versatile Fixate collection lays line after line of vibrant hues in dynamic parallels, each delivering movement and energy to the floor plane. The stripes, which vary in width, add a chic, modern element to any space. With a diverse color palette and a range of carpet tile sizes, the collection’s versatility is evident in the following five unique office environments.
When most flooring manufacturers talk about sustainability, they focus on what happens to their flooring at the end of its life. This means your flooring purchase becomes shaped in terms of what will happen to your carpet when you’ve finished using it, rather than the use you’ll get from it during its lifetime.
Sustainability and health have become increasingly popular across industries. Companies are prioritizing transparency when it comes to how their products are made, as well as what goes into them. In the architecture and design industry, there are hosts of third-party certifications that inform consumers of product ingredients and how it could potentially affect their health.

For the last 47 years, thousands have flocked to the iconic building, brimming with customized showrooms, for NeoCon – the largest design event in North America.
The past year has been full of many milestones at Milliken - from celebrating our 150th anniversary as a company and introducing innovative color- and art-inspired collections to enhancing our sustainability efforts. Here are a few of our favorite moments as we reflect on an exciting 2015 and look forward to the New Year ahead.
Over the last year, Milliken celebrated a host of milestones in our sustainability journey, including introducing our inaugural sustainability report and increasing the recycled content of our standard modular carpet collections by 8 to 10 percent. As we embark on the New Year, we are excited to continue that journey and extend our commitment to environmental stewardship. Collective efforts, big and small, matter. Here are a few tips to help you embrace greener living in 2016.
At Milliken, our driving purpose, to ‘do good,’ extends to our associates, our communities, and the people who comprise them. In October, Milliken & Company’s headquarter community, the cities and counties neighboring Spartanburg, South Carolina, found themselves in need when a record-breaking flood struck the entire state of South Carolina. Countless families were affected by power outages, flash floods, and rising water levels that threatened their safety as well as their homes and possessions. Milliken donated $100,000 to the American Red Cross to aid in flood relief and recovery efforts. In addition, employees at each of our 37 U.S. facilities collected supplies to deliver to the Red Cross.
Creating sustainable floor covering solutions extends beyond green operations of a manufacturer. It encompasses the activities of suppliers who provide various materials used to construct the flooring – from recycled content in cushioning to the yarn face fibers.
